The Institution of Railway Signal Engineers' Licensing Scheme exists to provide a recognised means of assessing the competence of railway signalling and telecommunications personnel, leading to the licensing of such personnel to undertake their work.
This website has been designed to give potential licence holders and the general public an overview of how the IRSE Licensing Scheme works. It also provides guidance and support to those who are working towards their licence, and briefing notes for licence holders and others on changes to the Scheme.
Much of the website can be accessed without having to register. However in order to gain access to the restricted areas of the website registration is required. This can be done by clicking on the Register link at the top of this page.
Approval of your registration request may take up to 48 hours. Once approved to login to the site, use the Login link at the top left of this page.
In the unlikely event that you need to, you can make a complaint against an IRSE Licence-Holder in respect of their licensed activities, via this website. Click on 'Complaints' on the menu bar on this page.
NOTE:IRSE licences are not valid for use in North America, nor for work outside North America that is subject to North American legislation.
